Morning Business - Fri

Friday. Or what I like to call, Who-day.
A very sluggish start this morning, but will go easy on the energy drinks, I promise.
They were 2 for $5, so I splashed out to keep one in reserve for Monday...

Maybe I could be the new face of SYNERGY,
as they parted ways with Lara Bingle,
after she parted ways with Michael Clarke.

'CINDY loves SYNERGY'.
(Call my agent!)

Parting ways with work will be such sweet sorrow.
Until I am home surrounded by piles of magazines which teeter ominously
and threaten to tumble over and render me immobilized.
Until Lady gets home.
Until she picks up the latest Who Magazine to have a quick browse
and hears my muffled cries of,
'Help! Paper cuts...'.

Thank goodness it's Who-day.

FRIDAY FASHION FEST!

This week I have been mostly channeling...
Alexa Chung loveyourstyle
Alexa, Alexa, Alexa...
Stripes, tights and statement bag.
Even managed to sneek in a polka dot swing jacket for good measure.

MID COWBOY UGGS
Getting involved in the change of seasons.
Mine are black. Tres chic. Tres comfy.
WARNING - NOT to be worn out of the house!!!

Solid Opaque Tights
Fuchsia is the new opaque.
Rocked them at work - Thanks to Lady for these!

colour intrigue
Peach blush spells MWAH!
Keeping my pale cheeks warm for years.
And I have this compact to boot!
Elizabeth Arden does pretty things. Score.

And a girl's gotta wear her uniform to work.
Everyday.

I think fuchsia tights should be at the top of her shopping list!
Maybe I could trade mine for that helmet.
A sure fire way to combat bad hair days!

Cindy Made This

A Personalised Notepad.
INGREDIENTS: Mini Notepad
Mini Puffy Stickers
(I chose London, they didn't have New York or Paris)
(They don't have to be 'puffy', I just got lucky)
INSTRUCTIONS: Cover all the writing on the front of the notepad with your stickers. Don't be afraid to peel the stickers off (if you can) and start over. After several attempts, you will have sucessfully left no trace of the common brand-name and will be left with your very own work of art. Something you can use to create more works of art.

Happyface.

Morning Business - Thurs

Yeahy for Thursday!!
One more day in the working week and then leisure time to the max.
Weekends are for preening and cleaning...Thursdays are for a little late week indulgence.

This morning was double mag maddnessssss.
I russhed to the newsstand to pick up the new Russh Australia.
The first issue under its new publisher did not disappoint. Vintagey, Stylish, Artsy.

And not to be left out this week, one of the weekly cheapies,
Famous Magazine.
A lot of trash and a little treasure.
What sold me on this one was the page open in the pic above -
FRONT-ROW FASHIONISTAS.
Girly girls in the midst of the fashion heartlands; Paris! New York! J'adore!
And the blue-ish tinge to the photo montage of the ladies seems dreamy.

Magazines? Check. Sugar-free Red Bull? Check.
Bunny-shaped cookie??? Check.
Thursday. Sorted.

Confessions of a Beauty Cabinet

All my talk about looking inside other people's beauty cabinets has led to a quick snapshot of mine...
TA DA!
Nothing fancy.
And in fact, these are the least used products in my beauty arsenal.

But when I grow up, I want my cabinets to be filled with gorgeous goodies like these:

A sneek peek inside Julia Roitfeld's bathroom!
So luxe. So chic. So fash pack royalty.

Mini Mag Review - Elle UK February 2010

TITLE: Elle UK
DATE: February 2010
COST: $9.95 AUD

Cindy Loves:
  • The cover - soft and buttery, sepia-inspired, and am taken in by the lines "Elle picks the best new accessories SHOES & BAGS". Yummy!
  • "Rachel in Furs" - Elle meets the controversial artist and Marc Jacobs muse, Rachel Feinstein. She makes me want to be a cool girl.
  • And always, MADEMOISELLE Confessions of an Elle Girl. She lives life large.
Cindy flicks through:
  • A lack of picturesque and inspiring editorials I usually dive into from the Mother Country. Sadface.
  • In short, a short issue...Unless you want to choose your tribe: Modernist Vs Warrior. I choose Warrior - embellished, colourful, expensive (isn't it all!) and aspirational.
Cindy Loves this the most:
  • Closet Confidential star Brix Smith Smart's pet pugs. Such smiley little dogs.
Outro:
  • No collectors issue.
  • You may choose to leave home without it (or forget you bought it until you get drawn in by a buttery-soft Natalie Portman staring out from under ELLE).
Rated:
  • 2/5 HEARTS

Morning Business - Wed

Looks like a busy morning, non?

All of the essentials and a note book and stickers!
I got crafty and made a personalised notebook first thing.
And last thing to do today? Visit the bank. Not after 4pm, you don't. Sadface.
But a shiny new 'denim' cover of Yen Magazine is sunshine on the page.

To All The Dedicated Mag Ladies - Mini Mag reviews begin TODAY! Happyface.

Morning Business -Tues

Another morning ritual. Helps me set the tone for the day ahead.

Just a little down time with a fab magazine, a cookie (damn sugar), and a Red Bull (sugar free - but am sure this doesn't make it any more palatable).

And the regular lunch - ham and cheese sandwich. I know it looks like it has tomato on it, but this is swiftly removed each morning.
What?
No tomato, you say?
Never been a big fan, however, the ingredient formally known as tomato keeps my sandwich moist all day.

Yes - I have the tastebuds of a 12 year old (no offence, kids). And this also means I LOVE a bunny-shaped cookie. Bring on Easter!

I love the smell of PR in the morning.

(Maybe even more than those bathing caps!)

Have a look at an interview with JUCY director Louise Alston

I. Am. Brilliant. It's official.
Technology has yet to escape me.

As I was saying...

For all your beauty cabinet or any other room in the house inspirations, have a look at The Selby and marvel at other people's gorgeous things.

You know you want to...

Morning Business

Aahh, morning rituals become object de arte for me.

I love taking a look inside other peoples beauty cabinets. Mine is no cabinet as such, just my tools of beauty laid out on my duvet. Something I dare not leave the house without.

One morning, Lady thought I was pale with sickness.
No - just hadn't put my lippy on yet.
It's only when I'm REEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYY sick
some sort of lip colour cannot find it's way to my face.

And before I sound like a peeping tom, I take a look at The Selby (www.theselby.com)* for beauty cabinet inspirations.

*I still have my Blogger L-Plates on and am endeavouring to get the hang of posting links to sites and more pretty pictures per post.
I am a girl on a mission! Enjoy!!

Next On The List

I shook my hands with excitement, called to my flatmate and best friend, Lady, to read my first post, and we giggled with excitement.
"What's your next post going to be about? The dishes?"
We laughed, and it is.

New At This...

Long time lover of pretty things and first time blogger. Yikes! It has taken me 3 hours to type these first words. I have been trying to decide on font, layout, colours, thoughts on a first post, and the perfectionist in me is doubting as I type.

(Just deleted a sentence of BLAH...)

Welcome to my world.
